When Luke 5 opened, people were so excited to hear Jesus teach that He asked Peter if He could use his boat as a platform to increase the number of people who could listen to the life-giving lesson.
When Jesus finished teaching, Peter had just wrapped up a long shift at work and had already dried out his nets. Nevertheless, Jesus asked Peter and his crew to return to the boat and launch into the Sea of Galilee to let down all of their nets. Peter reluctantly let down one net into the sea, assured that it would return empty just as they had all night. Everyone was surprised when the net almost broke with the catch. Once they returned to shore, Jesus made it clear that His lesson was for one purpose—to lead them to be willing to catch men.
Today, God is asking us to launch out into the deep once again. He’s calling us to use our “boats” and “nets,” but this project isn’t ultimately about buildings or resources—it’s about reaching people with the gospel. We’re launching out to renovate our student ministry building because we want to continue helping young people find and follow Jesus for generations to come.

Our community needs this renovation.
Our community is exploding with new families who are seeking a safe environment where their children are excited to participate each week. Our renovated facility will be bright, open, and welcoming whenever our guests step into the building for the first time. -
Our building needs this renovation.
The current floor plan is outdated, with small, segregated classrooms that underutilize the building’s square footage. Our new facility will repurpose the space with large, open classrooms where more kids and teens can be taught while minimizing the required volunteers. -
Our student ministries need this renovation.
The world is trying to distract our young people from following Jesus, and we need to fight for them. Exciting things are happening in our kids ministry under the leadership of Bob Mann, and we want to provide the necessary resources to invest in the future of our young people. -
Our church needs this renovation.
We desire for the growing number of young people at First Baptist to be church members and leaders of the future with a heart for Master Clubs, Bearing Precious Seed, missions, and Bible translation. The time is now to invest in the church of tomorrow!
